Family legacy
This is something I’m so passionate about, the importance of including Grandparents into your photography session. This may even come from a place of guilt for me. As a photographer I’m meant to be the one to capture the memories in my family, and I didn’t. Sure there is a few iPhone photos which I treasure, but now that my grandparents are gone its all I have.
I wish I had beautiful portraits, that I could enlarge and frame them in archivable material that I could pass down to my children. At the end of the day, photos and memories are all I have left.
Grandparents eyes twinkle with wisdom and love, and their smiles? Pure gold. Capturing the connection between grandparents and grandkids is like opening a time capsule of stories, laughter, and timeless love. It’s the kind of stuff that makes your heart do a little happy dance. Trust me, those candid moments of grandparents interacting with the kiddos—whether it's a gentle squeeze of the hand, a shared joke, or a loving gaze—are pure photographic gold.
Including grandparents in your family photos is about creating a legacy. It’s about weaving together generations into a beautiful tapestry that tells your family’s unique story. When you look back at these photos years from now, you’ll be grateful for those snapshots of love and connection.
So next time you’re planning a family photo session, don’t forget to bring along the grandparents. Their presence adds a richness and depth to your photos that’s simply irreplaceable. Plus, it’s a wonderful way to honor them and celebrate the incredible role they play in your family’s life.
