I’m so lucky to have a job where I get to photograph beautiful families, with the most adorable children.
I also have the most incredible bush location 2 minutes down the road from my studio.
Kids love this location. Kids can be kids and explore and play.
This location also has the most amazing light come through in the afternoon.
Its certainly a favourite of mine and many clients.
There is nothing cuter when babies I have photographed as newborns come back for their sitter session to update their portraits.
This little princess smiled and laughed the whole time
Can’t choose between studio or location?
I’m lucky enough to have a glorious bush location 2 minutes up the road from me.
It really is the perfect mix if you can’t decide.
What a pleasure to capture Kyle and Hayleys beautiful wedding at the Batesford Hotel, where Kyle proposed the year before.
The event was very much them, beautiful and relaxed.
So often as mums, we are the ones behind the camera (or phone) taking pictures of our families.
Capturing those snuggles and tickle time with Dad.
As a photographer i understand the importance of beautiful images of families. As a mum, it’s all I want for myself.
To me, the perfect image isn’t the one where we are all smiling and looking at the camera. Its the ones where the kids are smiling so hard they look like they are going to burst because mum has just given them a big kiss, or tickled them so much they can’t control their laughter.
Those are the ones with all the feelings.
This little guy was so tiny and sweet, i could have cuddled him all day.
He slept and posed like an absolute dream.
Every year I do a limited number of family sessions.
These sessions are 20 minutes of high intensity, play and fun. Everything to keep little ones engaged and happy.
Because let’s face it, they don’t often want to play the game and pose exactly how we want them to.
And why should they? They are kids, and we need to capture them being kids.
Running, playing, dancing, pull funny faces. After all, thats how we are going to capture those perfectly natural little smiles.
Here is the Brearley family, in all their playful, tickling, laughing glory.
Oh I do love a cake smash.
The funny faces these funny little kids pull during their session have me smiling the whole time I edit.
I loved the colours this mum chose for her little ones session.
So often as mums we are the ones behind the camera. Calling for our kids to look and smile at us while we hold a phone or camera in front of our faces trying to capture that perfect shot.
When do we as mothers ever take the time to get beautiful portraits with our children?
It is a gift to them, a gift to be passed down generations.
These are their memories, your children's memories.
"the bond between a mother and daughter is so precious, time goes by so quickly. When you capture moments like this, it's so special. Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favourite" Stacey, beautiful mother to Stella
There is nothing else that I love then sending off a gallery to a client and waiting for a reply when they see their images.
Waiting to hear the excitement of families looking at their images we have created for the very first time.
To create art of their own family that will be shared for generations.
My newborn sessions aren't all about the newborn, although they are a major part.
So often, its the first time the family will be getting family portraits. Or updating them since their last newborn shoot year earlier.
In the shortest time you children change so much, this is why I capture individual shots of all your children.
Exist in photos, for those generations to come to share.
